Nurit Hashimshony Yaffe (PhD), a Political Scientist and senior lecturer in the School of Government and Society at the Academic College of Tel Aviv Yaffo, Israel.
Her research interests include comparative politics and a special interest in African politics, Civil Society and State relations, Environmental Politics, Refugees’ Rights in Israel and Community Organizing patterns.
Dr. Hashimshony- Yaffe was a Visiting Fellow in African Studies Centre Leiden, Nederland.
She has served as an elected municipal member and as a director in non-profits, she is an environmental activist who combined practical experience with academic knowledge in both research and teaching.
Recently, she works on a field study in East Africa as a case study to investigate State, Ethnicity and Nationalism in modern Africa.
She also part of a multi-disciplinary research COST ACTION team (Europe and Africa) – " DRYLANDS FACING CHANGE: INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH ON CLIMATE CHANGE, FOOD INSECURITY, POLITICAL INSTABILITY".
