Visit of Keren Hayesod delegation from Australia
This month, we hosted a delegation of Keren Hayesod (UIA) from Australia. The delegation met with MTA President Prof. Shlomo Biderman, who highlighted the revolutionary role of the public colleges in Israel and the uniqueness of the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo. Avinoam Armoni, Chairman of the College's Executive Committee, shared with them the vision of New Academy, while Liat Weiss
Shahaf, Vice President of the College of Foreign Affairs, presented MTA’s main projects.
During the visit, mission members learned about MTA’s unique Bachelor of Nursing Science track for ultra-Orthodox men and received a first-hand account from a third-year student in the program of how the program changed his life and those of his peers.
They also visited the developmental laboratory of the SEED Center, a ground-breaking platform aimed at improving the relationship between parents and their infants as a means to ensure optimal early emotional development. At the Developmental laboratory, they received a glimpse into the fascinating SEED research process, which includes counselling new parents, monitoring the interaction with their babies and gathering information using sophisticated systems such as physiological parameter monitors and an eye tracker. The successful visit has already resulted in members of the delegation expressing interest in follow up meetings during the upcoming visit of an MTA delegation to Australia.
