    דר' אביב יצחק קיבל את הדוקטורט מאוניברסיטת חיפה בשנת 2010 ושייך לסגל בית הספר למערכות מידע במכללה מאז שנת 2021. ד"ר אביב מכהן כראש תכנית תואר שני במערכות מידע ומנחה דוקטורנטים באוניברסיטת חיפה. המחקר שלו הוא בתחום ארכיטקטורת מערכות מידע, במיקוד הנדסת מערכת והנדסת דרישות למערכות מורכבות (System of Systems). בשנים האחרונות ד"ר אביב חוקר את תחום מערכות מבוזרות בעידן ה-Web3, מערכות מורכבות הנשענות על מחשוב וחישה קוונטיים, ומערכות מונחות בינה מלאכותית.
    ד"ר אביב הצטרף למכללה לאחר שפרש משרות קבע בצה"ל שבמהלכו כיהן במגוון תפקידים טכנולוגיים ביחידות 8200, מצו"ב, לוט"ם ובתפקידו האחרון כ-CTO של אגף התקשוב. לד"ר אביב ניסיון מעשי רב בתחום הטכנולוגיה שאותו הוא משלב בהוראה ובמחקר.
